The UCSB History Associates was created with the dual purpose of bringing members of the community interested in history together with UC Santa Barbara faculty through an annual program of lunches and lectures, while raising money to support graduate training in UCSB’s Department of History.

Support UCSB History Students
As members of the UCSB History Associates we strive to keep learning and encourage UC Santa Barbara students to utilize their own skills and talents to keep history a part of current conversation. We are proud supporters and advocates for a number of scholarships and research fellowships.
History Associates Leadership
The History Associates board works together to provide ways to connect the Department of History and community. It’s made up of department faculty, faculty emeriti, and history lovers within our community.
"My dissertation requires visits to many different archives, in at least four countries. Fellowships from the History Associates have been vital for conducting research. Without them, I would not be as far along in my archival work as I am!"
"Without the History Associates support, I would not have been able to have funding to pay my rent and continue research. I am so grateful for their support, and I know that many graduate students would not be able to “make it” financially and continue any semblance of research without that support."
